Programme of Research
Healthspan Connect is part of the Health Research Authority pilot scheme for Programmes of Research. Studies can be added under this programme by substantial amendment.
The pilot scheme currently has a number of exclusions and studies of this type will not be considered under Healthspan Connect:
- Clinical Trials of Medicinal Products (CTIMP)
- Medical device studies which require approval from the MHRA
- Research which involves the administration of radioactive substances
- Research involving adults with incapacity taking place in Scotland
New studies
Studies investigating ageing, disease progression, health risks, and factors influencing a longer, healthier lifespan will be considered under the Healthspan Connect programme. Healthspan Connect studies will primarily be designed to support remote data and sample collection.
Healthspan Connect does not provide funds for the completion of research. It is required that researchers have secured or are applying for funding the proposed study.
Proposal process
If you would like to propose a new collaboration and study, please reach out to healthspan@kcl.ac.uk.
Proposals will be reviewed by the Healthspan Connect Governance and Resource Access Management Committee (HC-GRAM).
If you are a researcher that is interested in conducting a new study under the Healthspan Connect Programme of Research, we would love to hear from you.
