Claire Steves, Professor of Ageing and Health
Claire is the Chief Investigator for Healthspan Connect. She is interested in how each one of us ages differently and uses population studies to understand what underlies this variability. Her work focuses on the relationship between the microbiome and conditions of ageing, including cognitive ageing, frailty and multi-morbidity.
Jordana Bell, Professor of Epigenomics
Professor Jordana Bell is the Co-Principal Investigator for PROSPECT-UK. Her research explores the (epi)genomic basis of complex diseases in human populations, focusing on intermediate phenotypes including epigenomic and gut microbiome variation.
Sarah Berry, Professor of Nutritional Sciences
Sarah is the Principal Investigator of PROSPECT-UK. Her research is at the forefront of developments in personalised nutrition and is forging a new way forward in the design and implementation of large-scale remote nutrition research studies integrating novel technologies, citizen science and AI.
Vicky Bowyer
Vicky is the Healthspan Connect Project Advisor and Head of Research Programmes & Operations at the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London. She oversees Healthspan Connect and advises on ethics considerations.
Dr Thomas Rice
Tom is a Programme Manager at the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London. He manages the operational delivery of the Healthspan Connect research programme and PROSPECT-UK study.
Dr Rosiered Brownson-Smith
Rosie is a Research Associate in the PROSPECT-UK team at King’s College London, where she leads the planning, implementation, and analysis of the PROSPECT longitudinal cohort study, which aims to establish a new UK-based cohort dedicated to understanding early-onset colorectal cancer and the risks associated with diet, lifestyle, and health.
Laura Bello-Rodriguez
Laura supports in all communications and engagement activities across Healthspan Connect, including recruitment and retention of participants through a diversity of channels and stakeholders.
Ruby Turnbull
Ruby supports a variety of administrative, digital, and project support activities, including questionnaire development, website monitoring, responding to inbox enquiries, and coordinating a range of tasks to ensure the efficient delivery of team objectives.
Aaruthy Suthahar
Aaruthy supports in a communications capacity, developing videos and drafting social media content for the Healthspan Connect channels.
The Volunteer Advisory Panel
A Voluntary Advisory Panel (VAP) will be established to take the opinions and views of our volunteers on board during the development and running of research programmes for Healthspan Connect.
Membership will be for a defined period, typically three years. The panel will be representative of the Healthspan Connect participants.
